Structured wiring is a planned, comprehensive wiring system in your home that addresses your current home technology needs in addition to future needs, changes and additions. Ideally, structured wiring is installed during the construction phase of your home. At this time, before the walls are closed in, it is relatively inexpensive to install. However, it can also be installed in existing homes. Structured wiring combines all of your communications wiring- data (computer network), audio (intercom, whole house sound system), video (home theater, surveillance cameras), telephone, infrared remote control (A/V, smart home, lighting, HVAC), alarm, and even fiber optics. One outlet plate is provided in each room with all of these connections. These connections are home run back to a central wiring hub in the basement, garage or other convenient location.

The key advantage of structured wiring is the ability to change the configuration of your system as your needs change. In addition, individual home runs are easier to troubleshoot. Since no splices are used in structured wiring, signal quality is more consistent and signal strength is maximized.

At HIT, we believe that your communications network is the backbone of your home technology system. HIT only installs the best cable types, hubs, routers, splitters, amplifiers and wall plates. We design and install structured wiring systems that will meet your current needs and anticipate your future changes and additions.
